A Modern David

portrait of an Italian man who resembles Michelangelo's David

David

Rome…in front of Forno Campo Fiori

We were eating thin, savory, slices of potato/rosemary pizza from the Forno. A group of young Italian men on motorcycles pulled up.  This man caught my eye. Reddish, golden hair, eyes as dark as chocolate, and a face like Michelangelo’s David. I put my pizza down and picked up my camera. He noticed but stared straight at me. He knew he was as handsome as any statue.

Why is his face in the lower corner of the photo? I was trying to avoid the motorcycle handlebars. I could crop the top, but I like it like this.
