Afternoon at the Zoo

a hippopotamus swims in rainbow colored water at LA zoo

Summer Day

Los Angeles, CA 2016

The hippopotamus doesn’t look as if it would be a friendly creature and in the wild it is dangerous. At the zoo, though, the hippos seemed to know the keepers and allowed themselves to be petted as they snuffled up the bucket of food held by the keeper.

I used Alien Skin’s Exposure X to get those colors in the water. That also lightened the hippos eye and added to her personality…it was a mother hippo.
