Symbols of China

China 2005

Sorry. I can’t remember the name of this city. But I do remember going to the one small part of it that looked like China. Most of the city looked like Manhattan. This place was a sort of imitation Chinese village. You could shop, you could eat, you could take a Tai Chi lesson. The one thing you couldn’t do was take any good photos. No matter where you looked skyscrapers with balconies filled with drying laundry loomed into the dirty, gray sky. But I’m not a giver-upper. I got this shot. It’s awful in reality. With the miracle of Photoshop, I turned it into a “vintage” poster. So very satisfying.
