Balance: It’s Key!

Silhouette of Fisherman

Inle Lake, Burma 2011

It might surprise you to know that most, if not all, of the fishermen on Inle Lake cannot swim. It surprised me. Their houses float, they run across floating fields of water hyacinth to get to the neighbors, they paddle boats everywhere else. But they don’t learn to swim.  I met a man from Australia who, retired from his job at home, had started an organization to teach children in Southeast Asia how to swim. All the best!

Thank you for telling me! I do appreciate it. I loved visiting your country, especially Bagan as it is not only beautiful but unique. Sometimes I think of your typical breakfast of noodles and other delicious ingredients and I wish I had eaten more.
      My best to you.
