India Gate Before and After

India Gate monument in Bombay harbor

India Gate unadorned.

Here we have the India Gate at Bombay harbor. The local people love to enjoy the day here. There are men who will clean your ears, take your photo, give  you a shave and a haircut and maybe sell you something to eat.  I don’t remember the eating part. I did meet some local photographers who made their living taking photos of people with friends, all dressed in their best clothing. They had small Epson printers hanging from their shoulder and they had your print ready in minutes. I forget what they said they charged, but they told me they made about $50.00 per day. Not bad for India. You know what I hate about that day??? There I was looking for the “picture” and talking to these Indian photographers and I didn’t take their photo! Can you believe it?  I berated myself that evening. We didn’t have time to go back there again. And I still berate myself.  I wish I had taken their photo. It would have been the perfect foreground for the India Gate.

India Gate bathed in Gold

I like this photo better, do you? All I did was add one layer of gold color and texture. The layer photo was originally a green hill near my home, but I don’t like green…doesn’t make me happy like gold does…so I changed the color, turned the vertical shot to horizontal (rotate canvas) and then slathered it all over this shot. What a difference it makes. Now you have an idea of how much the crowds were enjoying themselves.
