A Vegetable Market in China 2005

I was thinking that this was a basket full of lotus roots, however in comparing my photo to photos of lotus root, this isn’t lotus. But I know if you have a Chinese chef cook whatever it is for you, it will be delicious.

It’s fun to wander through markets, especially Chinese food markets. Farmers have trundled their produce to market in baskets yoked over their shoulders. Some wear their traditional clothing like these H’mong farmer women below.
