Pilgrimage

Lalibela, Ethiopia 2013

A woman uses a prayer-stick as a staff as she visits the ancient stone churches of Lalibela.

A basic rule for printing black and white photos is to make sure your blacks are truly black and your whites are truly white. We developed an “eye” for this when we worked in the darkroom. We’d take our prints into the light and examine them visually. Now I just click on my highlights with the color picker and see where it falls on the color chart. Easy. Do the same with your blacks.
