Dawn in Yerevan

Morning in Yerevan

Yerevan, Armenia 2016

We got up at 5:30 almost every day because shooting the “blue hour” was a must for many of us. Not me. I didn’t bring my tripod and therefore was excluded from the blue hour coterie.

I sat in the dark and looked at the Cascades, a stairway (900 steps? not sure) with balconies that made me think of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. These balconies contained geometric designs, many featuring sculptures of block letters spelling out the word love. It was kind of the Beetles and Ancient Iraq mash-up.

Halfway up the stairs were glowing Buddha-like figures.  The illumination changed colors every few seconds and I shot many versions.  I will show another version another day. I have at least 50.
