In the Ala Too Mountains

A Kyrgyz Eagle hunter dressed in traditional clothing and fox fur hat holds his champion Eagle

In the Ala Too Mountains

Kyrgyzstan 2012

This is my best portrait of this handsome man and his champion eagle. How perfect is it that her head is just above his face? And both of them have a lovely expression. Expression is key in portraits. You remember that.

I have all of my digital files on external hard discs and now and then I’ll open one and run through the photos just in case I missed a good one. And more often than not, I find one. I found this one last week. I don’t know how I missed it the first time around. Well, I do. I get excited when I find a good one. I work on it and don’t look further. We do need only one good photo, but having two doesn’t hurt. Keep your files. There might be some spectacular shots that you didn’t notice.
