Khampa Girl

Khampa Girl

Qinghai Province, China 2007

She wore the colorful beads of the Tibetan people. She  sat with her family at a festival and she looked bored. She was at an age where she might have been hoping to meet the Khampa man of her dreams at what was a gathering of clans.

Her lovely face was full, but still an oval. Her smooth skin was subtly tinged with the ruddy shades brought on by the sun at high altitudes.  Her fingernails were clean and well-shaped. This and her beautifully strung beads gave me the impression that her family is wealthy.
