Mongolian Horses

Ready to Ride

Bayan-Olgii Province, Mongolia 2014

Without horses like these, the Mongols wouldn’t have conquered the largest land empire in history.

When I saw these horses, all tacked up, I thought about asking if I could ride one.  A gallop across the uneven, humped, land would require feeling at home in the saddle. I haven’t ridden for about 5 years and knew I might fall if I couldn’t control the horse. Not only would that be embarrassing, but it might be fatal. So, I didn’t ask.
