Kazakh man in Western Mongolia rides Bactrian camel through the mountains

Let’s Ride!

Mongolia 2014

A Kazakh man in Western Mongolia rides his camel at a mile eating pace. The rider seems snug sitting bareback between the two humps. The camel is pacing: the lateral legs moving in tandem. This gives the body a side to side rolling motion. It isn’t comfortable to ride a pacing horse and most pacing horses, such as Standardbreds, are driven. But maybe sitting between two furry humps on a wide body is different. It does look like fun.
