Portrait of an Amaryllis

Amaryllis

At Rosemary’s house…2017

A friend gave me an Amaryllis plant for Christmas. I don’t have a green thumb so I made my husband plant the bulb. I did keep it watered, though. And it grew into this gorgeous creature. It is still adding blooms so as soon as I finish here, I’m going to take some more Amaryllis portraits.

To get the black background use a piece of black velvet…I know you don’t have one. I don’t either. I found a black robe and used that. I did have to keep it out of the sun.

This reminds me of a vintage poster that features a glass of champagne. Hmmm. A jumping off point. I love those!!
