The Artisan Wears a Suit

Tunis, Tunisia 1961

A young man wearing a suit hammers an intricate design in a brass tray. He is proud of his work and of his achievement. Most likely he was apprenticed to his father or another brass artisan when he was a child. Now, after years of learning,  he is an expert and has his own shop. His suit proclaims his status. He has arrived. Remember when people wanted to look nice? You only have to watch a “Miss Marple” or “Poirot” episode to see how clothing “makes the man”.

How interesting that you know that man’s name. We can not only communicate over the miles but into the past using the internet. Yes, God Bless his soul! Is that a photo of Tunisia or Libya?
I am happy that you are contributing to my blog. Thank you.
