Silhouette, After the Fact

Farmers Float to Market

Burma 2011

I loved these shots of the Burmese paddling their boats on Inle Lake. Of course, the leg-rowing men were my favorite but I loved the women perched on the ends of low riding boats filled with produce heading for market.

I shot this from a balcony restaurant high above the lake. It was a lovely place to eat lunch. We could see the activity on the lake and during the meal we could rush to the bannister to get our photos. I have shown you similar shots in color, but I decided to make a silhouette of this one just for variety. I’d been reading on how to shoot a silhouette but this is easier. Just desaturate, increase contrast and maybe add some clarity. Voila!
