The Diagonal Line

Bangkok 2007

The diagonal line is the most powerful, dynamic line in photo composition. The line from the man’s head to his extended leg draws your eye from left to right…and that’s a good thing as we read from left to right and our eye naturally follows. You may not notice the diagonal line when you are shooting a moving object like this. But you can look for diagonal lines when you are deciding which of your shots is best.
