The Process

Roman Catholic nuns file down a dark corridor

Walking in the Light

Rome 2015

These nuns are part of a procession going from one church to another. It was mid-day. Crowds of shoppers and tourists stood to the side to let the priests and nuns pass down the narrow street.

There isn’t much time in a situation like this. Luckily my camera settings were suitable. It was getting the viewpoint that was the problem. I like this shot as the nuns form a diagonal line and there  are enough of them to make you think something important is going on.

Here’s the image as it came from my camera.

I don’t have my camera set to process my images in any way. I like to do that myself at home. I know others like to say that they don’t do anything to their photos. Well, I do! I do as much as I can. I have an image in my mind and if I can get there using Photoshop and my plug-ins, then I’m going to get there!

Did you notice the relation between the word process and procession? Both involve slow progress toward the goal.
