The Woman from Transylvania

digital painting: A woman in Transylvania costume enjoys her garden

Contemplation

Romania 2012

I saw this woman wearing her traditional dress in the city of Cluj. She sat near her market stand, gazing up at her wares. I loved her and her clothing but not the environment of a city street market. I cut her out of the original shot and pasted her into a shot of a castle garden. She seems to belong here.

I used Topaz Labs ReMask 4 to cut her out of the original photo. You could use Photoshop as well, but Topaz seems more user friendly to me.

I also used Topaz Simplify to give the whole thing the look of a painting. All I need now is to add a border and some text and I have a poster to remind me of my wonderful time in Romania with Daniel Gheorghita (www.covinnus.com).

Oh, I wish I had more wall space!
