Wodaabe men arrive on camelback to witness a Geerewol in Niger's Sahel

The Visitors

Niger 2000

Wodaabe men arrive at a camp in Niger’s Sahel to watch a Geerewol celebration. They have ridden from their camps which change locations depending on the availability of grazing for their cattle.

The Wodaabe do not believe in expressing emotion and although the men were keenly interested in the festivities, as I remember, they only talked softly among themselves.
