Zebra: Close Up

Ngorogoro crater; a zebra drinks from a pond

Satisfied

Ngorongoro Crater, Kenya, 1998

A zebra drinks from a pond in the Ngorongoro Crater. You can tell that he has had enough as he is letting water spill from his mouth. This is typical of horses and apparently zebras, too. I don’t really know if this is a male or female. The roundness of her barrel or midsection make me think she might be pregnant.

It was more difficult than I had thought to get some good shots of zebras…well, any animal for that matter. My lens wasn’t long enough. (300mm) If I had known then that I could rent a longer lens, I would have.
