 RICE TERRACE LANDSCAPES OF CHINA

Most of these photos were shot in Yunnan Province where the H'mong tribes live and work using age old techniques to  till the 400 year old rice terraces.  There are several tribes in the area and the women wear distinctively embroidered clothing. Women and men seem to work equally hard.  Although minorities may have more than one child,  I didn't see any children working.  The head line photos are various Chinese farmers. Even the old people worked and they seemed very healthy and strong. The women in particular were always busy. Even when they were waiting for a customer at the market they would be embroidering or knitting.
