These boys are so beautiful! Thank you for posting their pictures on your website. I see what you mean with the boy next to the drum; every time I look at his face, I can't stop smiling. He has such an infectious smile! :)

Hi, Muhammad,

I tried to send an answer to the email I received from you on my GMail but Google said it could not be sent. I think the regime in Syria has blocked emails for the time being.

Your email was v. interesting. I hope you will stay safe.

Regards,
Rosemary

Hi, Muhammad.

When I see what is happening in Syria (on our news) I wonder what life is like for the Syrian people now. I suppose most people are going about their lives as usual, but just watching to see what is going to happen.

When I was in Syria, last year, I met a Christian man who liked Assad. This man felt that because Assad is from a minority group that things were better for other minorities such as Christians.

I am guessing that most Syrians want better job opportunities. I met a young college student in a small city who said that to have a good job he would go to another country, maybe to Dubai. He was studying English and felt that his only chance in Syria would be to become a teacher. I wonder if your universities have good programs in engineering and computer science. Do they?

We have our own problems in the U.S. We, too, have a lack of jobs due to the financial crisis that is world wide. And we, too, have self-serving leaders that don't care about the wishes of the people. I never thought I would say that about my country.

I'll be interested to hear what you have to tell me about your life in Syria.

Best regards,
Rosemary
