THE PEOPLE OF THE SAHARA: MALI TO MAURITANIA, FEATURING THE FULANI, MOORS AND TOUAREG PEOPLE These photographs were taken in 2005 when I traveled with Alberto Nicheli of Transafrica on a 5000km expedition through the Sahara. The lives of tribal people may seem unsophisticated but they are not. The people have customs that are as gracious as ours, if not more so. They are hospitable and friendly and will invite you into their tent, ply you with food and drink but at the same time, there is a wild west quality to their lives and a life can be held as cheap. |
