Flowing LInes

abstract design in Utah sandstone rocks

Nature’s Design

Utah, USA 2013

It looks like an aerial map with rivers, deltas and terra firma. The colors make me think of Africa now that I’m writing this. But the shapes also make me think of Kyrgyzstan, when my friend, Torie, called out to me, “It looks like a painting”. Now I see it. Finally.(http://www.rosemarysheel.com/archives/solitude )

I had photographed all the ruins and views that I could think of at Monarch’s Cave and had progressed to shooting detail. It was a delight. The centuries of water runoff from the overhang above the ruins had discolored the rocks and caused them to shatter leaving lovely shades of orange/gold.
