Girl in traditional Tibetan dress stares over mountains

Homeland

China, 2007

We brought a lovely young Tibetan girl with us. She had a wardrobe of traditional clothing that her mother had sewn for her. Our leader always asked her to stand with her back to us. He didn’t want the bother of getting a release for each photograph and if no face is showing then no release is needed.

I think the technique works here as otherwise the photo would have a “selfie” look to it.

I used Alien Skin’s Snap Art to give this the look of a painting. It’s easy!
