My friend said he was intoxicated. Maybe he was. Definitely, he was haughty. And impassive. His eyes were pale blue, rare among the Rabari. Maybe that was why the village considered him to have magical powers. Here he looks like a king, if you ignore his dusty kurta (shirt). But when he got tired of us, he removed his turban and he looked like … well, let’s just say the magic disappeared.
