Farmwomen at Work

Bukovina, Romania 1989

Farmwomen drive a horse and cart through a muddy barnyard in rural Romania. The little girl wonders why I am taking her photo. These photos were taken shortly after the rebellion where Ceausescu and his wife were killed. People were giddy with happiness as if they had been released from jail which in a way they had been.

To see more old photos of Romania see my guest blog at www.covinnus.com. It’s titled “Rosemary Remembers Romania”
