A Bowlful of Pearls

Burma: woman makes pearl necklaces

Beading with Pearls

Burma 2011

I learned from Lisl Dennis that a wide angle lens is the lens of choice for market shots. The wider the better and if your lens is a zoom then you’re ready for any close-up situation. Lisl showed how  you can get a colorful vendor in your shot while seeming to aim your lens at his produce or in this case pearls. Every now and then, though, you will come upon someone who doesn’t want you to even photograph what he is selling. Why???

This woman didn’t care whether I took her photo or not. She was thinking that soon it would be time to go home, put her feet up and have a cup of tea.
