A Spectacular Shot

Essential Balkans: Serbia & Macedonia Tour

Sunrise in the Camargue

France 2018

I can’t take credit for this photo. It was set up by my photo tour leader, Jim Zuckerman. Jim’s aim is to have his tour participants go home happy with their photographs and this was one that made us all happy.

We rose early and were driven to a beach on the Mediterranean. We met the rider who is a  French horseman called a ‘gardien’.  We would call him a cowboy.  He made his horse rear time and time again in front of the rising sun.  Jim’s associate, Scott Stulberg, kept calling out for us to get the mane flying in the air adding another sense of action. There was no excuse not to get a spectacular shot.

I’ve just returned from the Camargue, a region of France called Provence. In the next posts, I’ll be showing you many shots of horses and flamingos as well as gypsies celebrating one of their special saints.
