Bagan Temple

Young Buddhist Monks in Bagan Temple
Prayers Offered by Young Monks

Young Buddhist Monks pose as if they are praying in an ancient temple on the plains of Bagan.  As I’ve written in other posts, the boys were cooperative and helpful.  Not once did they ask for a pen, or candy or money. Discipline and respect for elders is learned from their families and their teachers at the monastery.  They were happy to have a day off from school and duties at the monastery. And they were happy to earn a bit of money from us. I had the impression, though, that the boys were just naturally happy and content with their life, simple though it is.
