The Entrance to the Temple

Bagan, Burma 2011

Our tour leader, Win, (http://www.asiaphototravel.com) arranged for these three boys to be our models. We’d picked them up from the monastery where they happily abandoned their lessons for the day. Win instructed them to slowly walk toward the temple and then turn to face us. That works better than just asking them to stand there. Since they were in motion, the feet of each boy are in a different position and the umbrellas, too, are at a slightly different angle.

I saturated the colors, cropped and then used Photoshop’s angled strokes filter to make this photo into a digital painting.
