A Kazakh grandma claps her hands in delight

Happy

Kazakhstan 2016

We had pulled over to the side of the road. A Kazakh family was enjoying a snack of samsas or piroshky or samosas…they are pretty much the same thing. The young women wanted a selfie with us. Of course! It was our turn to be photographed. We turned the tables on this beautiful old woman whose face radiated happiness.

Things happened on my recent trip to Kazakhstan, Georgia and Armenia. The worst thing was that I ruptured my Achilles tendon. I didn’t know it until I got home and Googled my symptoms. I’m recovering from surgery and if nothing else goes wrong, I’ll be back at my blog.
