On the Streets of Rangoon

Streets of Rangoon

Rangoon, Burma 2011

Andrei Kertesz was one of my favorite photographers when I was taking classes. That was before the internet and I’d buy books with his work. One book contained only photos of people reading. It was after he moved to America and he, too, had to look for subjects to photograph.  People reading was a good idea then and it is a good idea now. If you have your camera handy, you’ll be sure to find one or two interesting shots each time you go out.

Of course, these were shot in Rangoon. I hear you saying, “couldn’t you find something else to shoot in Rangoon, for gosh sake? ” Well, yes, I could but I couldn’t ignore people reading. If it is good enough for Kertesz, it’s good enough for me.
