Orchids in Thailand

Orchids...green and pink

At the Orchid Farm

Chaing Mai Thailand 2007

There are many beautiful gardens in Thailand, some owned by the Royal Family, where you can wander and enjoy the lush vegetation that is a gift of a hot, rainy climate. This shot was taken at an ‘orchid farm’. Orchids were hanging from wires at eye level and were easy to shoot.

I seldom photograph flowers, but as I was taken here as part of my tour, I felt obliged to get some shots. Now, looking at this one, I wish I had tried harder. I like the bokeh in the background and the orchids themselves are ultra sharp. Always a desireable factor in a photograph. Look at those tiny hair-like things on the leaves of the orchid in front. Nice!
