A young girl waits with her mother outside the Dongguan Mosque in Xining. It was prayer time at the mosque and it seemed that only men were entering. The girl and her mother waited on the sidewalk outside the mosque for her father who had rushed through the gates. Her expression shows a sweet and spunky personality highlighted by the snaggle-toothed smile of a six year old.

A young boy helping his family herd their Pashmina sheep on the vast steppes grasps the needs of the tourists immediately. He grabbed up the sheep and held its head toward the shooters. His expression shows he takes his job seriously and is determined to do it well.
