morning light reflections on a street in Sicily

Reflections

Ortygia, Sicily 2015

The light streaming down the narrow street struck the car windows. I remembered an old photo, shot in New York city…maybe in the late 40’s…of a city street at sunset. The light in that photo rimmed those beautiful old 1940 cars parked at the curb. I wanted to replicate that photo but I didn’t have those beautiful cars and they were key. So, I went for sinisterĀ and added the silhouette of a man. And I kept the barest outline of the Venetian windows of the old building.
