St. Petersburg and Neva River

St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg, Russia 2009

Shot from one of the bridges crossing the Neva. I used Snap Art made by Alien Skin to give this the look of a painting.

Peter the Great, Tsar of Russia, forced his boyars to build palaces in his new capital of Petersburg. The result was that the facades of the palaces are similar. The light reflected from the rivers flowing along the main thoroughfares gives the pastel colored buildings, on sunny days, a feeling of springtime.
