men with umbrellas sail in a shabby boat

Two Men in a Boat

India 2009

The boat didn’t look seaworthy to me. The men sailing in this low riding craft didn’t seem concerned. The sail, made from discarded plastic gunny sacks, billowed in the breeze and pushed the boat gently to shore. Huddled under their umbrellas, the men dozed and let the boat make its way home much as a donkey cart driver might do in arid lands.
