The Fossil Factory

Man polishing fossils in Erfoud Morocco

Polishing Fossils

Erfoud, Morocco Late 1990’s

Fossils, especially trilobites,  are plentiful in the desert around Erfoud.  Here a man has his own little polishing factory. He has a “fossil mine” located in the desert east of Erfoud where trenches are dug in the sands, sometimes 8 to 10 feet deep. It reminded me of gold rush days in old California.
