Tibet: sunlight falls on a richly colored stairway in a Tibetan monastery

Stairway in Tibetan Monastery

Lhasa, Tibet 2007

I’m not sure which monastery this is. I remember following the people in front of me…some western tourists but mostly they were Chinese or Tibetan. The Tibetans were there to pray. The Chinese (and we) were there to look and maybe learn.

As we passed from one chapel to another, I noticed the stairwell above. The light, although it was an overcast day, brought the many colors to life, resembling a stained glass window.
