Village on Volga

Country Village

Russia 2009

One of the many small, nearly abandoned villages we sailed past on our Russian River cruise. Sometimes the roof on the church would be caved in. The tiny houses were ramshackle.  Trees and grass, growing with abandon, were taking back the land. I don’t think I ever saw a soul in one of these villages. But someone lived there… in peace, I hope.
