Ethiopian Abstract

black and white close up of painted shoulder of Kora man of Omo Valley

Kora Body Painting

Omo Valley, Ethiopia 2013

Black and white can simplify a shot to basic geometry. Here is a man’s shoulder covered in white clay with designs etched by a fingernail. His “wife-beater” undershirt and a wide necklace of red beads interspersed with white horizontal strips of something or other add mystery. Would you have known what this is if I hadn’t told you?
