Eyes on the Lower Third

portrait of an old woman dressed in black, huddled in her coat and kerchief against the icy cold weather

Maramures Babushka

A village in Northern Romania 2012

I gave some tips on shooting portraits in this post:

I remarked that the usual placement for the eyes of your subject is on the upper third line and also that if you wanted the eyes on the lower third line, well, for you that is perfect.

Here the woman’s eyes are on the lower third and it is perfect! I love her all crouched down in the corner.

I recommend Daniel Gheorghita at www.covinnus.com for your trip to Romania
