Chinese Lanterns

Impressionist Digital Painting

I got the idea to make a Matisse painting. That was years ago. I began with a photo of  clothes hanging on a line.  I can’t remember what all I’ve done with this but I was never satisfied.  Because I’d gotten a bit of what I wanted I couldn’t bear the thought of discarding my project. Today, I added one more layer. It was a photo of a wall in Sicily that I’d photographed for the purpose of using as a filter. This layer dulled my overly bright colors and for me the “painting” was finished.
