Two horses tethered wait for a rider on the barren steppes of Mongolia. Soon two of the Kazakh men, who were our hosts, would mount and ride for six hours holding their eagles on a perch that rested on the saddle. They would arrive at the Eagle Hunting contest in the early morning ready to compete.
