Mursi of the Omo Valley

A Mursi boy from Ethiopia's Omo Valley with body paint of white clay

Mursi Boy

Ethiopia 2013: Omo Valley

I’m not sure what the look he isĀ giving me means. Maybe he’s telling me not to shoot when he is posing for someone else. I do think he is sending a message.

His body is covered in white clay which I’ve read can be thought to have magical properties as well as sun and insect protection.
